Money, often referred to as simply G, is the currency in Dokapon Kingdom, otherwise on-hand cash. Money contributes to an adventurer's total net worth, along with Town value and Local Item value. There are many ways to earn money, such as:
- Kill any Monsters.
- End-of-week Salary and Bonus.
- Kill wanted criminals.
- Win at Casino.
- Money Spaces.
- White Loot Spaces.
- Red Loot Spaces.
- Selling Items, Field Magic, Offensive Magic, Defensive Magic, Weapons, Shields, and Accessories.
- Some Weekly Events.
- Steal it from Adventurers, by them Giving Up, using the Pickpocket spell, Money Trickster, Risque, or killing them.
- Tax Money.
- Gold Bug.
- End of Story Mode Bonus.
- Gold Shoes.
- Alchemy.
In the story mode of Dokapon Kingdom and Dokapon Journey, the adventurer with the most money when the game ends will marry Princess Penny.
An adventurer's on-hand money can be swapped as one of the possible results of the Mix-Up Field Magic.
The max amount of money, along with net worth, is capped at 999,999,999G. The only way to feasibly get this much money is to casino spam/Hero salary, and then Gold Bug abuse, or Alchemy/Magic Medicine duplication selling.
Debt[]
When an adventurer has less than 0G, they are in debt. Debt generally occurs when an adventurer loses money as a result of a random event that would result in them paying more money than they currently have on hand, such as through a Weekly Event like Abnormous Disaster, losing gold from a Red Loot Space, or encountering Doctor Exiles.
When an adventurer is in debt, the following changes will occur:
- The Old Beggar will give the adventurer a rare item instead of asking for change. (This also occurs if the adventurer has 0G).
- Losing to Roche will result in Roche clearing the adventurer's debt and setting their money to OG.
- The option to give your debt to another adventurer when you defeat them in a battle becomes available.
- If the adventurer is currently in possession of the Blackmail, they will be unable to hand it off to another adventurer as they're unable to pay half of their money.
- The Gold Bug instead has a chance to double debt or remove it completely.
